How and Why Album Artwork is Used?

 Album Artwork

Why album artwork is still important?

- artwork can sell the product

-  show the genre

- helps to create and maintain the artist image

- can be iconic and have USP

- target audience

- show the ideology of the artist/ bands

-  sells the physical music (people put in their room)

From the artwork we should see the genre of the music...

Artist: ACDC

From the look of it, the tone is pretty dark. The main colour scheme is red and black. From the font and the symbol I would assume this is a rock genre music album.

More detail, there are electric guitar on the side, which I would think this should be a band (who made the album).

Artist: Hyukoh

I would think is Indie by the look of it, because normally indie music album artwork has no picture, more artistic.

Looking at the details in the painting, there are nothing really rocky or rude, so the album should include more chill musics.

Artist: Justin Bieber

There is a picture of himself, so from this cover they are trying to promote the artist. The cover is suggesting the genre is pop from the font, and from the picture of Justin Bieber. His body is full of tattoos. The cover is pretty plain, and his facial expression is chill, which I would think that can be R&B as well.

Artist: DaBaby

There is a picture of himself on the cover, so they are also trying to promote the artist. Again, the cover is pretty simple, so only by looking at the artist, I would think the genre is hip-hop. he has tattoo and gold chain on him.

Artist: The Beach Boys

From the cover, we can tell this is a band because there are not just one person. The background colour is green and the font is in yellow and white. I would think this is kind of countryside band.
