Tour Poster + ticket design
After I have finished the digipak design, as a production group we started to think about what we should do after the music video is released.
From the research, we decided to make a tour, this is following the genre conventions. I made a poster for the tour and the ticket.
Group feedback (2)
We had a meeting as a production group, we looked through our post production process. This is the last meeting we have before we finish our product. This meeting is also for us to have an idea where we at as a production group.
DigiPak:
From last meeting, the feedbacks I have got are mostly positive and there are only a little bit I need to change. From this meeting I have got confirmed that the digipak is done.
Video:
I have suggested that the hand held section needs to be more playful, obviously after adding the colour and effect will be different but for now I think the non lip-sync section is too still.
Social Media:
We need more interaction on social media, Twitter has got many re-twit which is very good, but on Instagram we need more stories and interaction.

Digi Pak Design process 6
I have changed the spine because from the research I have done, the words are facing the front cover and the background colour has to be the same as the front cover.
Here is the final spine:
DigiPak Design Process 5
At the end of my process I have added the spine. On the spine there are album name, band name , record name and the code bar numbers.
This is for finalizing my digi pak design

DigiPak Design process 4
From the group meeting feedback, I have collected some suggestion for the design.
The first thing is to remove the track list, I don't need to write track list on the back cover.
I also need to swop barcode and lego information positions.
When I was changing these details I found out the inside is other way round. I wanted the inside to be linked but I thought would be on the right is actually going to be on the left. So I re-do the inside.
Here is the final :
Merchandise Design
I have made some merchandise designs for the band, so Maddie and Millie who are in charge of the social medias can use it as a way to promote.
I downloaded some mockup from the internet.

Group feedback for post production
We have all started our post production, at we decided to meet as a group to give out some feedbacks on each the video, digipak and social medias.
Video:
The feedback I gave was the genre was very clear, it has got performances in the video. The star image was very clear as well, their actions and emotions. The feedback I gave was that we need more hand held non lip-sync footages in the video because the concept we set is having the non lip-sync videos to build up the video and build the group star image.
Social Media:
The genre and star image were both very clear, because they used many rock emojis and have done lot of research on other social media. I suggested that we should have more photos, not just behind the scenes. Having a theme might help with promoting a new album.
DigiPak:
The feedbacks I have got are the back cover colour needs to be brighter, the barcode and the legal information needs to swop places and remove the track list title. Overall the concept and theme and the genre showed very clear. The star image also showed from the inside design.
Overall the campaign is going well and on the right direction. My target is to finish the digipak and change what I have done wrong.
DigiPak design process 3
I decided to design the inside as one picture so when the album is opened the two sides are linked.
I started to draw, I used the blue colour I used in the front cover so the colour scheme matched.
In the end I put four panels into on Photoshop document and corrected some details.
here is the video that shows my process:
DigiPak design process 2
I started to redrawing the concept art and developed a little bit. The feedback says the colour is too dark, so I have changed the background brighter.
I also used Millie's logo idea but changed a bit to make it look better on the album.
Here is the video that shows my process:

Feedback of album artwork/ digipak
I have got some feedback from the group members for my digi pak.
photo:
Positive feedbacks:
- like handwritten idea
- love vcr effect on the front
- like the logo
- follow the convention from colour scheme
Improve:
- the photo inside only show where is my head because is a shoot from the music video
- The colour scheme is too dark for the genre
concept art:
Positive feedbacks:
- love the front design, works well with the back
- This is 100% original idea, link to our own song
Improves:
- logo is difficult to read
- Album name needs to be in different place
- The colour needs to be matched, try use the same blue
- Used red for inside which doesn't link with the front and back
- They don't really work as 4 panels.
- The drawing inside is childish, need to think of something else.

Digi-pak designs
As a production group we have came up with different designs for digipak, this is for we gather ideas for final design. Here are the designs we have got:
My designs:
2. The second design I mainly focused on their photo in the front.
Front: there are 4 members pictures in the front and VHS effect on top so it links to the music video.
Back: handwritten track list
Inside: pure logo on disk and a photo of the band.
Amanda's design:

Digipack research of my genre
What style is the album artwork likely to be and why?
I looked up 3 different prop rock band's digi pack designs. This can help me getting idea for my design and following the genre conventions. I chose to look at their first album because we are making a new band so following the first album design is better.
The first one I looked at is The Vamps, the reason I look at the them is because their style is similar to our band and they have 4 members as well.
What do you need to include in your design?
Front:
Parental advisory
name of the band (bigger in font), because we are selling the band
name of the album
Back:
Legal info
numbered track list
barcode
How will you link this design to your campaign?
From the research I have a concept idea, the first thing is to narrow down the colour scheme and them start doing the design.

Group feedback on social media
As a production group, 4 of us all looked into different bands' social media in order to help us running our own social media.
We have come up with conclusion what we need to include in our social media:
- Promotional posts
- Personal Posts (Their daily life etc)
- tracking events posts
- Count down for release
- cross over with celebrities
- Interaction with fans
- Posts which creates star images

Conclusion on social media research
Conclusion
What do they have in common?
By looking at the two different bands' social media, I have noticed that most of the time they are posting themselves as they are promoting the band and mainly the posts about the events. They all post trailers of an event and counting down to keep the excitement. They also post many behind the scene pictures, because that is what the audiences can't see during the events and the fans are willing to know each of their characters.
They also re-twit posts that relate to them, such as music festival official account.
what do you notice, and do you think this was successful?
I notice that they collaborate with other celebrities are successful, and common to other artists. This engage other fans to take notice on the band. They also post some personal life onto the social media, which seems to be successful because that keeps the account more interests.
Timelines for Fall out boy
I looked up to Fall out Boy another same genre band but who has no recent release. I will have a look at their most recent 6 months posts.
Instagram:
Timelines for Coldplay
I have found two similar genre bands and went up to their social media. This can help me understand more how social media works and what they have done to interact and engage with the audiences.
1. ColdPlay
Time line for the social media:
I focused on their Instagram page. They had a recent album released on 15th October, I found out that they are more active before the album release because to keep up the excitement but also after the release they have more events which keep the social media also quite busy.
Then I also looked at their twitter.
what / how social media is used
Social Media
Marketing before the internet used traditional media, such as: radio, TV, film, prints.
When internet comes over - social media became a big path to promote and market. This is because social media is cheaper, user friendly, tarted marketing, personal interactive and most importantly is it is spreadable.
social media is used to sell the artist/ band products and build the star image. Construct a brand that audiences consume.
In order to make the social media effective, we need to use the social media to engage with the audience and do it effectively. We can even interact with other celebrities on social media to build the image of our artists. Having cross over on social media is something that traditional media can't do and this also gives out the artist's interest to the fans.
Normally on social media we post about their daily life that the fans would like to watch, and when it gets to album release time, we will see posts such as behind the scene, album, tour and live. In particularly active time the social media will be more active as well.

Behind the scene of shoot day
I have edit a behind the scene video from the set up day to the shoot day.
Reflection of the shoot day
The day before the final shoot, as a production group we started to set up the scene. In the afternoon from 3 o'clock. At the beginning we didn't really know what to do as there were a lot to do. We were stuck on where to place everything because the set up we got was not exactly what we were expecting. The place was smaller then we planned. I started off from decorating the wall with posters. To fill up the wall we needed many posters. We have bought some posters and flag which were not big enough to fill up 3 big walls, so we decided to print out some posters and images so do some collage with it.
We then gathered all the props we need from the school such as fridge, table and drum kit. We were stuck on where we would like to place the drum kit, fridge and table. We tried different positions and looked through the camera to see how it looks. When we decided where to place them then we started to fill up the table with beer cans, snacks, CDs, records and all the things we have. We had some extra things that we haven't thought before, such as cloth hanger, shelf, magazines etc. We got from the set designer and we thought they are suitable to be in the set. The set was much smaller than we expected so we had to get rid off the sofa and mattress which were two big idea for us, we planned to have the band hang out on sofa in the VHS section. The reason we didn't tried to keep it in is because that what we had at the time was looking good enough and we thought if we have time during the shoot day, we can change the basement around and get the sofa in anytime.
Here is the picture of our final set:
We finished with set 1 around 1:50 in the afternoon, when two of the members helping with the set. Amanda and I helped the members with changing to different costume and doing their make ups. We mainly focused on lead singer George because the lighting in set 2 don't really show their faces and we were running out of time.
When we get to set 2, I did a quick photoshoot with the band just in case we will use them later on in social media or album artwork.
I think I did good for behind the scenes, I have got enough good pictures and videos to support social media, behind the scene video and even some can be used for the album designs.
