Early feedback of song choices

 As a class we have listened to songs we chose. We gave out different feedbacks and opinions to each other to help us forming the artist and choosing the songs.

I have shown two songs to the class, which are "Bleed" and "Angel".

1.

Name of Song: BLEED

Artist: Evie Irie

After I showed to the class, everyone agree with that this song should play by an Artist.

The genre is very clear to be Pop music.

The artist will be easy to cast, what I need is a female. The artist gives a rebellious vibe to the audiences.

The conventions that the class suggest are: 

- Big performances/ movements, as there are strong beats at the back supporting the melody.

- Attitude, the artist definitely is not girly. The tone of her voice gave us a string powerful female image. The artist I will be making should have her own attitude, with strong make ups.

- In the music video there should have back up dancers, as in the music there are people shouting and singing. 

As we are making a music campaign so people would expect to see herself mostly on her social media. She would be posting her casual daily life to show her personality. 

We are making a new artist, so the first music video is low budget. I think this song is easier to make as the first video because we will be mainly focusing on her as we are trying to promote her. This song has no story line, so the visual can be easily just kids messing around. This song will be very fun to do as well, it has an energetic vibe.

2. 

Name of Song ：Angel 

Band: Attila Zirk

This song is clearly for Band, as there are instruments at the back.

For this one is harder to cast, because the voices are deep and mature. It would be hard for me to find in school. We also will need to find people who can play instruments because of the music is played by bands and the convention of band's music video is having them performing the instruments. Rock band is different from pop boy bands, rock starts are more focusing on selling their music and their talent rather than their face and personality. As this will be us making their fist music video, the audiences would want to see their talent of music. We will have close up on their hands, and also the music video does not need to contain any story line. This will be good for their first low budget music video.

The genre of this song is rock for sure, and people would expect to see dark colour tone and dark lighting for the music video. 

For their merchandise, it will be logo on them because they are promoting themselves as a band, such as Queens, the Beatles. On their social media, people would expect to see behind the scene and playing in basement as a band.

The conventions on clothing would be dark colour, maybe black leather jacket.

Overall,  the feedbacks are good and suitable for shooting and casting. I would prefer to do the first one as it is easier to cast.
